The Communities in Transition Initiative provides assistance to Ontario communities and industry sectors facing economic development challenges including plant closures, significant job losses and industry-wide restructuring.
With a funding allocation of $2 million annually for four years, the initiative provides flexible, tailored assistance that supports innovative economic development solutions not covered under existing provincial programs.
The Communities in Transition Initiative supports projects brought forward, championed and implemented by the affected community or industry group. Projects typically include an element of local investment or in-kind support.
